Highlights from the NBM and CEIC Scientific Conferences

Nearly 400 researchers and PhD students gathered from June 29 to July 3, 2026, at Toulouse INP-ENSEEIHT for the NBM (New Business Models) and CEIC (Circular Economy – Interdisciplinary Conference) conferences!

The objective was to bring together two international conferences to explore recent developments in business models and examine their contribution to broader societal and economic transformations, with a particular focus on sustainability, the circular economy, social entrepreneurship, and community-embedded businesses.

A success that led to plenty of interaction!

Toulouse INP hosted EU-ISMET 2026: a successful international congress

From July 8 to 10, 2026, Toulouse INP-ENSEEIHT welcomed the EU-ISMET 2026 congress, bringing together researchers, PhD students and experts from around the world in the fields of electrochemical microbiology and bioelectrochemistry.
Organized by the Toulouse INP Events Team, the congress provided three days of scientific presentations, discussions and networking, fostering knowledge sharing and new collaborations within the international scientific community.
A successful event combining scientific excellence, international exchange and conviviality in Toulouse.

IUTAM BUSINESS MEETING held in Toulouse

The International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) held its Business Meeting in Toulouse from 19 to 22 July 2026. Organised by Jacques Magnaudet, President of IUTAM and Senior Researcher at CNRS working at the Fluid Mechanics Institute of Toulouse (IMFT), the event brought together IUTAM members and the Congress Committee.
This event featured several round-table discussions addressing key topics for the future of mechanics, including the role of young researchers in the field, the interactions between mechanics and artificial intelligence (“Mechanics+”), and the relationship between IUTAM and its adhering organisations.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for stimulating scientific and strategic discussions, as well as for fostering exchanges among members in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.
